Golden Triangle of Greece: Athens, Mykonos, Santorini

The Golden Triangle of Greece is a 9-day, 8-night trip that visits Athens, Mykonos and Santorini in that order. You spend 2 nights in Athens, 3 nights on Mykonos and 3 nights on Santorini, then depart from Santorini airport on day 9.

The package includes 8 nights on bed and breakfast, all transfers in Athens, Mykonos and Santorini per the itinerary, a shared Athens sightseeing tour with entrance to the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum, fast ferries from Athens to Mykonos and Mykonos to Santorini in economy class, and an economy flight from Santorini to Athens with airport taxes.

International air tickets, tips, hotel city taxes and optional tours on the islands are not included. Lunches and dinners are also not part of the package, as the hotels are booked on bed and breakfast.

You travel from Athens port (Piraeus or Rafina) to Mykonos by fast ferry, then from Mykonos to Santorini by fast ferry, both in economy class. At the end of the trip an economy flight from Santorini to Athens is included, with transfers to and from each port and airport.

Yes. The tour is offered with three hotel collections, each priced separately: one based on hotels such as Polis Grand, Alkistis and Star, a higher tier such as Athenaeum Grand, Vienoulas Garden and Santorini Palace, and a top tier such as Divani Palace Acropolis, Petasos Beach and Orama, or similar.

Yes. Each hotel collection has seasonal rates, with the lowest prices in spring and October and the highest in July and August. Rates are per person and vary for single, double and triple rooms; the exact fare for your dates is confirmed on this page or in your quote.

On day 2 a guide takes you past Syntagma Square, the Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier and the National Library, with a stop at the Panathenaic Stadium where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. On the Acropolis you see the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and the Parthenon, followed by the Acropolis Museum.

The Athens sightseeing tour is a shared (seat-in-coach) tour with an expert guide, and entrance to the Acropolis site and the Acropolis Museum is included. The rest of your time in Athens, Mykonos and Santorini is free for your own exploring.

You have days 4 and 5 free on Mykonos to enjoy its whitewashed houses, windmills and chapels, sandy beaches, shops and galleries. Walk the winding lanes of the town, visit the Paraportiani church or relax at Little Venice. Optional tours such as a jeep safari or boat tour can be booked through Palace Tours before you travel.

Santorini is known for its caldera, created by an ancient volcanic eruption, with whitewashed villages perched on the cliff edge. On your free days you can visit the Prehistoric Museum in Fira with finds from Akrotiri, explore the island's colourful volcanic beaches and watch the sunset from the village of Oia.

Oia is often called the most photographed place in Greece, best known for its sunsets over the caldera. Its small white houses are tiered down the hillside with splashes of blue, pink, ochre and red, and you have two free days on Santorini to visit it at your own pace.

Daily breakfast is included at every hotel, as all 8 nights are on bed and breakfast. Lunches and dinners are at your own expense, giving you the freedom to try tavernas in Plaka, Mykonos town and along the Santorini caldera.

No, international air tickets are excluded. You arrive at Athens International Airport on day 1, where you are met and transferred to your hotel, and you leave from Santorini airport on day 9. The internal flight from Santorini to Athens is included if you connect home via Athens.

After your airport transfer and check-in, the rest of day 1 is at leisure. Many travellers explore Plaka, the oldest district of Athens beneath the Acropolis, or shop on Ermou, Kolonaki and Voukourestiou streets.

A 25% deposit secures your booking, and the balance is due 65 days before departure. The fare depends on your travel dates and chosen hotel collection, and is confirmed when you book.

Children are welcome. Child pricing uses two bands based on age at departure: 0 to under 5, and 5 to under 12. Share the children's ages when you enquire and we will confirm the rate and room arrangement.
