Danube Delights II: Bucharest to Vienna, 10 Nights

This 10-night cruise sails upstream from Turnu Magurele, the Danube port for Bucharest, to Vienna. It calls at Vidin in Bulgaria, cruises the Iron Gates gorge, then visits Belgrade, Novi Sad, Vukovar, Mohacs, Budapest and Bratislava before finishing in Vienna.

The cruise sails aboard the MS Fidelio. Every stateroom has a private bathroom, individually controlled air-conditioning and river views, and cabin categories differ by deck and by window or balcony type.

You board the MS Fidelio at Turnu Magurele in Romania from 4 PM on Day 1. After settling into your cabin there is a welcome cocktail followed by dinner on board, and you spend the first night aboard.

There are three categories:

• Category C - Lower Deck, fixed window (lead fare)
• Category B - Middle Deck, panorama window
• Category A - Upper Deck, French balcony

Categories B and A carry a per-person supplement over the Category C fare.

Fares are in US dollars per person sharing a cabin and are led by the Category C Lower Deck fare, with supplements for higher decks. The exact fare for each departure is shown in the departure list on this page, so you can compare dates before booking.

The fare includes your cabin, full-board dining with breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout, a welcome cocktail and captain's events, guided shore excursions as per the itinerary, an English-speaking cruise manager, onboard entertainment, port charges, and Wi-Fi where available.

Not included are international flights, travel insurance, gratuities, drinks not listed, personal expenses and optional excursions. Port and tourist taxes of US$120 per person and a fuel surcharge of US$90 per person are also added to the cruise fare.

The Iron Gates Gorge is one of the most scenic stretches of the Danube and forms the natural border between Serbia and Romania. On Day 3 you cruise past Golubac Fortress, the remains of Trajan's Bridge, the Tabula Traiana and the monumental rock carving of King Decebalus.

The ship reaches Vidin in the early afternoon of Day 2. The town is known for Baba Vida, the only fully preserved medieval fortress in Bulgaria. You can explore at leisure or join an optional guided visit to the fortress, which must be reserved in advance.

A guided city tour of Belgrade covers Kalemegdan Fortress, the Temple of Saint Sava, St. Mark's Church and the Parliament Building. The afternoon is free, and many guests visit the bohemian Skadarlija district or Ada Ciganlija, the city's recreational island.

The cruise passes through seven countries: Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia (Vukovar), Hungary (Mohacs and Budapest), Slovakia (Bratislava) and Austria (Vienna). It is a comprehensive way to see the Lower, Middle and Upper Danube in a single voyage.

Yes. Single occupancy is priced as a supplement on the per-person rate: 50% for Categories C and B, and 75% for Category A. Cabin availability for solo travellers is limited, so we recommend asking early for your chosen date.

A 25% deposit secures your cabin on Danube Delights II. The balance is due 65 days before departure; bookings made inside that window are paid in full at the time of booking.

Children can travel sharing with adults. Child pricing is set in two bands by age at departure: from 0 up to 5 years, and from 5 up to 12 years. A travel specialist will confirm the fare and cabin configuration for your family.

Departures on sale run from 21 May 2027 to 30 September 2027, covering late spring, summer and early autumn on the Danube. Each available date is listed on this page with its current fare.

Individual transfers are not included in the fare. Turnu Magurele is the Danube port serving Bucharest, so most guests fly into Bucharest and travel on to the ship; our travel specialists can help you plan the arrival and the departure from Vienna.

Yes. Guided shore excursions as per the itinerary are included, and an English-speaking cruise manager travels with the ship. Optional excursions, such as the Baba Vida fortress visit in Vidin, can be added and paid separately.

After Hungary the ship calls at Budapest, divided by the river into historic Buda and lively Pest, then Bratislava, the compact Slovak capital, before arriving in imperial Vienna, where the cruise concludes.
