It is a 7-night river cruise from Belgrade to Vienna aboard the MS CruceNova. It takes in the Iron Gates gorge and the Balkan stretch of the Danube before continuing to Budapest, Bratislava and Vienna. Meals, guided shore excursions and an English-speaking cruise manager are included.

The Iron Gates are a dramatic gorge where the Danube cuts through the Carpathian and Balkan mountains along the border between Serbia and Romania. It is one of the most scenic stretches of any European river, and a big reason travellers choose a Balkan Danube cruise over the busier upper Danube routes.

There are four categories, all with a French balcony: Category D on the Middle Deck aft, Category C on the Middle Deck, Category B on the Upper Deck aft, and Category A on the Upper Deck. Every cabin has a private bathroom, individually controlled air conditioning and river views.

Yes. For sole use of a cabin, a single supplement of 50% of the per-person rate applies in Categories D and C, and 75% in Categories B and A. Single fares start from about US$3,928 in Category D, and the exact single price for your date is shown on this page.

The fare includes your cabin in the category you choose, and full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) throughout. It also covers welcome and captain's events, guided shore excursions as listed in the itinerary, an English-speaking cruise manager, onboard entertainment, port charges, and Wi-Fi where available.

International flights, travel insurance, gratuities and personal expenses are not included. Drinks outside the included selection and optional excursions are also extra. Port and tourist taxes and a fuel surcharge are added to the fare as well.

Yes. Port and tourist taxes of US$95 per person and a fuel surcharge of US$65 per person are added to the fare. We include them in your quote and invoice, so there are no surprises when you pay the balance.

All staterooms have a private bathroom, individually controlled air conditioning and river views. Every category on this sailing has a French balcony, so you can open the doors to the river. The categories differ mainly by deck and position: Upper Deck cabins are higher, and aft cabins are towards the stern.

Yes. An English-speaking cruise manager travels with the ship, and the included guided shore excursions are led in English. Onboard entertainment and the captain's events are also part of the programme.

Flights are not included. Because the cruise starts in Belgrade and ends in Vienna, most travellers book an open-jaw ticket: fly into Belgrade and home from Vienna. Arriving a day early gives you a buffer against flight delays. Ask us if you need help with timing.

A 25% deposit secures your cabin, and the balance is due 65 days before departure. Port and tourist taxes and the fuel surcharge are included in your total invoice.

Children are booked in two age bands, based on age at departure: under 5, and from 5 up to (but not including) 12. Child fares are confirmed on request, so contact us with your children's ages and your preferred date.

Yes. On top of the guided shore excursions included in the fare, optional excursions are offered along the way at extra cost. They are a good way to go deeper in cities like Budapest or Vienna. Ask us for the current list when you book.

Travel insurance is not included in the fare, and we strongly recommend it. Choose a policy that covers cancellation, medical care and missed connections, because the cruise starts and ends in different countries and relies on flights at both ends.

Wi-Fi is included where available on board. Coverage can vary along the river, especially in remote stretches such as the Iron Gates gorge, so don't rely on a constant connection for work or streaming.
