Classic Rhine River Cruise: 7-Night Dusseldorf Round-Trip

This 7-night cruise is a round trip from Dusseldorf, so it begins and ends in the same city. Boarding starts at 4:00 PM on Day 1 with a welcome cocktail, followed by a free afternoon, dinner and your first night on board.

From Dusseldorf the ship sails to Koblenz, Mannheim (for Heidelberg), Strasbourg, Speyer, Mainz, Rudesheim and Andernach before returning to Dusseldorf. The route combines castle-lined Rhine scenery with historic cities in Germany and France.

The cruise sails aboard the MS Cruce Rio, a river ship of 104.5 m with capacity for 110 passengers, remodelled in 2018. She has a lobby with a library and open fireplace, a spacious restaurant on the Main Deck, a sun deck with loungers and a covered area, and an elevator between decks.

There are three categories:

• Category C - Lower Deck, fixed window (lead fare)
• Category B - Middle Deck, panorama window that opens
• Category A - Upper Deck, French balcony

All have a private bathroom, individual air-conditioning and river views.

Fares are in US dollars per person sharing a cabin and are led by the Category C Lower Deck fare, with supplements for the Middle and Upper Decks. The exact fare for each departure is shown in the departure list on this page.

The fare includes your cabin, full-board dining with breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout, a welcome cocktail and captain's events, guided shore excursions as per the itinerary, an English-speaking cruise manager, onboard entertainment, port charges, and Wi-Fi where available.

International flights, travel insurance, gratuities, drinks not listed, personal expenses and optional excursions are not included. Port and tourist taxes of US$95 per person and a fuel surcharge of US$45 per person are added to the fare.

Koblenz sits at the German Corner, where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet. With more than 2,000 years of history and a setting of forests and hills, it is one of Germany's oldest cities, and a guided walking tour is included on Day 2.

Heidelberg is offered as an optional Star Excursion from Mannheim on Day 3. Heidelberg Castle is one of Germany's most famous landmarks and a symbol of German Romanticism. Mannheim itself is known as the birthplace of the automobile and for its large Baroque Palace.

Yes. On Day 4 the ship arrives in Strasbourg, capital of the Alsace region. Its historic centre, the Grande Ile, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988 and is one of Europe's finest examples of a medieval city.

The currency on board is the euro, and Visa and Mastercard are accepted for onboard purchases. Cabins use 220V electricity, so bring a suitable adapter if your devices use a different plug.

Yes. Single occupancy is priced at a 50% supplement on the per-person rate for Category C, and a 75% supplement for Categories B and A. Single-use cabins are limited, so we suggest enquiring early.

A 25% deposit secures your cabin. The balance is due 65 days before departure; if you book within 65 days of sailing, full payment is taken at booking.

Children sharing with adults are priced in two bands based on age at departure: from 0 up to 5 years, and from 5 up to 12 years. A travel specialist can confirm child fares and cabin arrangements for your date.

Departures on sale run from 17 April 2027 to 9 October 2027, with frequent sailings through spring, summer and early autumn. Every available date is listed on this page with its current fare.

Category A Upper Deck cabins have a French balcony, and Category B Middle Deck cabins have a panorama window that opens, both good for watching castles and vineyards pass. Category C Lower Deck cabins have a fixed window and offer the lowest fare.
