2 Can I rent a shotgun if I don't want to carry my own?
The cost of a rental shotgun is included in the tour in case you would like to travel without your own shotgun.
3 Do you arrange for the permits for shotgun?

4 My partner does not Golf or Clay Shoot. Can I bring them along?
Sure. Non-shooting / non golf partners are welcome. They will not be able to participate in the activities but can always use our concierge for planning alternate activities. There is a surcharge if they would join you for some of the activities and dinners and it is important we know about them well in advance to make sure you have the best experience together.
5 How long is the Scotland golf and clays tour, and where is it based?

It is a 3-night, 4-day group tour based entirely at the Turnberry resort in the Ayrshire countryside of south-west Scotland. You stay in one place throughout, so there is no packing and unpacking between activities.

6 Which airport should I fly into for the Turnberry golf and clays tour?

The itinerary starts with your arrival in Glasgow, with a transfer arranged from the airport to Turnberry. Airfare is not included, and as the general exclusions list transfers, please confirm the arrival and departure transfer arrangements for your booking with us.

7 What is a Simulated Game clay shooting day?

Simulated Game recreates the style of a traditional English driven shoot with clay targets. You are driven to different stands around the estate and hundreds of clays are sent in different directions, giving you the thrill of a driven day. A rental shotgun is included if you prefer not to travel with your own.

8 Which golf course do we play on the Scotland golf and clays tour?

Day 3 is a round on the Ailsa Course at Turnberry, and the green fees are included. The Ailsa is walking only, though a golf cart can be provided for guests with a medical condition, and there is an optional 9-hole round on the Arran course on the final morning.

9 What makes the Ailsa Course at Turnberry special?

The Ailsa has hosted four Open Championships and some of the most famous names in golf. It was reborn in June 2016 after a transformation by the architect Martin Ebert, and it runs along the Ayrshire coastline, making it one of the most celebrated links courses to play in Scotland.

10 Is the Arran 9-hole course included on the last day?

Day 4 offers an optional 9-hole round on the Arran course, the more relaxed of the resort's courses, before check-out. Let us know when booking if you plan to play so we can reserve a tee time for you.

11 Which meals are included on the Turnberry golf and clays tour?

Breakfasts and the dinners set out in the itinerary are included: a welcome dinner with the group on day 1, a three-course dinner at a special location on day 2, and dinner at The Duel in The Sun restaurant on day 3. Other meals and extras are at your own expense.

12 What happens on the evening of the clay shooting day?

After the Simulated Game shoot and a free afternoon, the group gathers for a special tasting event followed by a three-course dinner at a special location. It is a highlight of the tour and a chance to share stories of the day's shooting.

13 What else can I do at Turnberry during free time?

Free afternoons can be spent at the resort's spa or on optional activities such as horse riding and falconry, and you can also explore the Ayrshire coastline. Optional activities are not listed in the inclusions, so they are charged separately if you choose them.

14 Are spa treatments included in the Scotland golf and clays tour?

The itinerary leaves time for the spa, especially on the afternoon after golf, but spa treatments are not listed among the inclusions and are paid separately. We can help you reserve treatments in advance so they fit around the golf and shooting.

15 What type of accommodation is used on this Turnberry tour?

The tour is offered in Deluxe class, with accommodation in a Villa room at the Turnberry resort for all three nights. The resort also offers the 1906 Restaurant, The Duel in The Sun and a full spa within easy reach of your room.

16 Can I extend my stay in Scotland after the golf and clays tour?

Yes. The tour ends on day 4, but you can stay on at Turnberry or add excursions and nights elsewhere in Scotland. Ask us for extension options and we will build them around your tour dates.

17 What is not included in the Scotland golf and clays tour?

Airfare, transfers, travel insurance and anything not specifically listed as included are extra. Included are the Simulated Game clay shooting experience, golf green fees, the tasting evening and other activities named in the itinerary, plus the breakfasts and dinners listed.

18 When does the next Scotland golf and clays tour run, and how much does it cost?

No departures are currently listed on this page, so ask us for the next group date and fare. Once dates are set, a 25% deposit holds your place and the balance is due 65 days before departure; if you plan to bring your own shotgun, book early as the permit takes about 8 weeks.

19 Is this tour suitable for a mixed group of golfers and clay shooters?

Yes. The programme includes both a clay shooting day and a golf day, so keen shooters and golfers are both catered for, and the spa, falconry and horse riding give everyone options in the free time. Each day follows the itinerary, so you can see exactly which activity falls on which day.
