We have suspended the tours focused on the San Fermin festival at this time. It is NOT from any "appeals" from any organization and we will NOT give any organization an opportunity to take advantage of our decision for their own agenda and self promotion.
First and foremost - Palace Tours and its team always was and is totally against torture of animals and does not condone any harm to any living being and it doesn't need any outside organization to teach the difference in right and wrong.
To be very clear we support PETA’s goal of ethical treatment of animals but do not support the way they use their resources in unethical ways to try and impact any business. This should stop! We support animal rights and human rights and business rights and believe everything can coexist peacefully without any pressure.
Palace Tours has always been committed to taking decisions keeping in mind the business as well as the greater good of the communities where it does business. San Fermin provides business to the local community in and around Pamplona and has its roots in the history and culture of the region. Many homes in Pamplona depend on income from this festival. Not everyone has to like it and approve of it and it is not fair to paint everyone involved as a villain in this festival.
There were many factors that made us take this decision. From the tour not aligning to our core business of luxury trains and tours and experiences to the fact that the ROI was not able to justify our spending in sustainability efforts in the area, the decision was taken that we stop selling the tours for San Fermin.
