La Dolce Vita Orient Express: Northern Greens

Northern Greens is a 4-day, 3-night round trip that begins and ends in Rome. You board La Dolce Vita Orient Express at Rome Ostiense, travel overnight between golf days in Piedmont, Franciacorta and Tuscany, and return to Rome at the end of the journey. Because it is a round trip, you only need one gateway city for both your arrival and your departure flights.

The itinerary pairs the train with four of Italy's most celebrated courses: Royal Park I Roveri near Turin, Franciacorta Golf Club, The Club at Castiglion del Bosco (Antognolla Golf Club on the 16 May journey) and Marco Simone Golf and Country Club. Four days of golf are built into the programme, with pre-reserved tee times, green fees and access to club facilities included.

Royal Park I Roveri sits inside La Mandria Regional Park, a protected natural area just outside Turin, with the Alps forming the backdrop to the course. It is regarded as one of Europe's most prestigious clubs and combines a genuine technical challenge with striking landscape and history. Day two of Northern Greens is given over entirely to playing there.

Yes. The programme includes pre-reserved tee times, green fees and access to club facilities at each course, plus luxury private transfers between the railway station, each golf club and back after play. You do not need to arrange course bookings or ground transport yourself for the golf days described in the itinerary.

The days ashore are built around golf, but the train itself, the lounge cars and the dining are enjoyed by everyone on board. If someone in your party does not play, tell us when you enquire and we will confirm what alternatives are available on your specific departure before you commit to a booking.

Two categories are offered for this journey: Deluxe Cabin and Cabin Suite. La Dolce Vita Orient Express carries 12 Deluxe cabins, 18 Suites and the signature La Dolce Vita Suite, with interiors inspired by Italian design of the 1960s. The categories available on each date, and the fare for each, are shown in the departure list on this page.

The fare covers accommodation on board in your chosen cabin category, all meals on board with menus curated by three-Michelin-starred Chef Heinz Beck, selected beverages on board, the off-train golf and experiences described in the itinerary, live entertainment in the Bar Car and dedicated cabin steward service. One complimentary hotel night in Rome with a gourmet dinner is also part of this programme.

Travel to the departure city and home from the arrival city is not included, nor are personal expenses, gratuities, travel insurance or anything not expressly listed in the itinerary. Optional extras you arrange on the day, such as purchases at the clubs, are also outside the fare. We are happy to quote separately for extra hotel nights or transfers in Rome.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner on board are included, with menus curated by three-Michelin-starred Chef Heinz Beck. On Northern Greens the evening meals reinterpret the flavours of the regions you have played in that day, such as Piedmont on the second night, and are served in the Restaurant Car. Breakfast can usually be taken in your cabin or in the Restaurant Car.

Selected beverages on board are included in the fare, including those paired with meals in the Restaurant Car. The Bar Car is open into the evening with live music, and items outside the standard list are charged as personal expenses. Tell us in advance about any preferences or dietary requirements and we will pass them to the train before departure.

A deposit of 30 percent of the tour price confirms your cabin and is non-refundable. The balance is due 125 days before departure, and bookings made within 125 days of departure are payable in full at the time of booking. Your written confirmation shows the exact amounts and the dates they fall due.

The lead-in fare for Northern Greens is from EUR 14,160 per person based on two people sharing a cabin. Fares vary by cabin category and by departure date, so the exact fare for each departure and category is shown in the departure list on this page. We quote the final amount in writing before any payment is taken.

Yes, solo travellers are welcome and a single occupancy fare is offered for this journey. Because a single guest occupies a whole cabin, the single fare is higher than the per person sharing rate; the current amount for each departure is shown on this page. Contact us and we will confirm availability in your preferred category.

Children are priced by their age on the departure date. Two bands apply: 0 to under 5 years, and 5 to under 12 years; guests aged 12 and over pay the adult fare. Because the days ashore are built around golf, please tell us the ages of any children when you enquire so we can confirm what suits your party.

Departure dates currently on sale are listed in the booking section of this page, with the fare shown against each one. The next departure is 29 September 2026, a Tuesday. Dates for this itinerary are limited and cabins are released in small numbers, so we suggest enquiring as soon as you have a date in mind.

Your own flights to and from Rome are not included in the fare, so you are free to arrive on the routing that suits you. The journey itself begins with a private transfer from your Rome hotel or the airport to the La Dolce Vita lounge at Rome Ostiense, where doors open three hours before departure. We can also quote for extra nights in Rome before or after the train.

Tell us when you book whether you plan to travel with your own clubs or would prefer rental arranged at the clubs, and we will confirm the arrangements for your departure in writing. Let us know at the same time if you need help with airline sports baggage allowances, as those rules are set by your airline rather than by the train.

Late September in Piedmont, Franciacorta and Tuscany is usually mild and settled, with comfortable playing temperatures by day and cooler evenings, though conditions vary from year to year. Pack layers, rain protection for the course and something smarter for dinner on board. We will include current guidance in your pre-travel documents.

Travel insurance is not included and we strongly recommend arranging comprehensive cover, including cancellation, as soon as you pay your deposit. Italy is part of the Schengen area, so entry requirements depend on your nationality and should be checked with the Italian consulate or embassy that covers where you live, well before you travel.
