Your Itinerary
ARANJUEZ & MADRID
Guests are welcomed in Madrid for an introduction to the capital and lunch. We then travel to Aranjuez to board the Al Andalus, where the crew greets us with a welcome toast, and visit the Royal Palace of Aranjuez and its gardens, a World Heritage Site. The train then sets off for Torrijos. Dinner and overnight on board.
CáCERES & TOLEDO
After breakfast we visit Toledo, the former imperial city and a World Heritage Site shaped by Christian, Muslim and Jewish cultures. Lunch in the city and some free time, then the train carries us west into Extremadura to Cáceres. Overnight stay in Cáceres.
CáCERES & MERIDA
A morning in Cáceres, whose walled medieval old town is one of the best preserved in Spain. The train then takes us on to Mérida to explore the monuments of the Roman city founded in 25 BC. Dinner in a local restaurant and overnight stay in Mérida.
JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA & MERIDA
Today the train heads south into Andalusia, arriving in Jerez de la Frontera, a city known for its wineries, its Andalusian horses and flamenco. Time to discover the city, with some free time, then dinner on board and overnight stay in Jerez.
CADIZ & CORDOBA & JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA
After breakfast we visit Cádiz, the ancient port city on the Atlantic. Lunch is served near El Puerto de Santa María, after which we return to Jerez and the train continues to Córdoba. Dinner and overnight on board in Córdoba.
CORDOBA
A full day in Córdoba, once the capital of the Caliphate of Al-Andalus. A guided tour takes in the Mosque-Cathedral and the historic centre, a World Heritage Site, with lunch in a local restaurant. Overnight stay in Córdoba.
CORDOBA & SEVILLE
The train travels to Seville while we enjoy our final breakfast on board. On arrival we say farewell to the train and its crew, and the journey ends.

15% of total tour cost due at the time of booking
85% or balance no later than 35 days prior to tour departure date
CANCELLATION FEES:
Up to 30 days before departure: refund less 15% of official price.
Between 30 and 15 days: refund less 25% of the total.
Between 14 and 5 days: refund less 50% of the total.
Between 4 and 1 day(s): refund less 80% of the total.
Less than 24 hours or failure to turn up: No refund, 100% of the total is payable.
A 5% Administrative fee will be charged from Palace Tours against any refunds. All cancellation fees and administrative fees is applicable for FULL Tour price before coupons.
All cancellation, change, or update requests must be submitted in writing by email to travel@palacetours.com. Please allow at least 48 hours (and in some cases longer) for us to review, confirm, and process the request and advise any applicable fees. A cancellation, change, or update takes effect only once we have received and processed the request, and we will confirm the outcome to you once it has been processed. Cancellation timeframes and the applicable fee are calculated by reference to the local time and normal business hours at the destination where the tour is provided; a request received outside those business hours (including evenings, weekends, and public holidays at the destination) is treated as received on the next business day at the destination, and a further processing period of at least 48 hours (and in some cases longer) then applies before the request takes effect.
CHANGE OF DATE/OCCUPANCY/NAME/SCHEDULE (not including changes to itinerary)
WITHIN SAME TRAVEL SEASON (September to August) may be possible if requested up to 120 days prior to the first scheduled service of the tour. For certain tours, change of date/name/occupancy/schedule will NOT be possible. No changes will be permitted within 65 days of the first scheduled service; any requests for such are not guaranteed and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Change of date/occupancy/name/schedule is subject to availability and at the sole discretion of TRAVBUZZ / PALACE TOURS. There might be a cost associated with any changes to a booking and the same will be communicated before the time of such change being processed or confirmed. No changes will be done without a formal change request and confirmation and payment of any fees acceptance by the client.
The above times are based on local time of the destination where the tour is provided. In order to provide enough time for processing cancellation, guests need to add 3 business days to the above timeframes.

Accommodations
Facilities onboard the Al Andalus
Onboard the Al Andalus you will be able to enjoy four lounge cars that were built during 1928 - 1930. In these carriages that are outfitted with luxurious decor and modern amenities you will be able to dine on wonderful meals created by the chef and his team and rest and relax in your leisure time. In the evenings you can enjoy the lovely scenery passing by and enjoy the music performances that are frequently held in the Piano Car. Wi-Fi is only available in the Al Andalus lounge car.
Accommodations onboard the Al Andalus;
The Al Andalus has two cabin types: Standard Suites and Superior Suites. While traveling on the Al Andalus, you will discover that the suites in which you will be staying were initially built for the British Royal family. Experience charming Belle Epoque décor that subtly mixes with modern comforts, ensuring that you have a wonderful journey.
Details of Gran Clase (Standard Suites)
Within each Gran Clase Suite you will find comfortable sofas that convert into twin beds during the night. The cabin staff will ensure that you get all the assistance you need to make this change in the evening. There is also an en-suite bathroom in each suite with a hairdryer and toiletries for your use. Please also note that the Standard Suites are located after the Superior Suites in the train and are therefore farther from the Lounge Cars and disembarking points.
Twelve Gran Clase Suites are available and each measures 8 square meters / 86 square feet). Each has two beds (one is 31" x 75" and another is 27" x 71")
Details of Suite Deluxe (Superior Suites)
Decorated with beautiful wood panels, the Suite Deluxe Suites have a large sofa which is converted into a lovely double bed during the night. In this suite you get enough space to sleep in the night and rest and relax during the day as you watch the scenery pass by through the wide windows. There is also an en-suite bathroom that is spacious and comes with a steam sauna and shower. In the bathroom there is a range of exclusive toiletries for you to use along with a hairdryer. Please note that the Superior Suites are situated closer to the front of the train, near the Lounge Cars and disembarking points.
Twenty such Suite Deluxe Suites are in the train and each measures (9.9 square meters / 107 square feet). Each has a double bed measuring (59" x 79"), some have a third bed measuring (28" x 71").
In terms of configuration, Suite Deluxe Rooms are closer to the dining area and the common areas on the train. Gran Clase Suites are towards the end of the train, past the train cars with Suite Deluxe Rooms.

The dress code is casual, although you may dress up for dinner if you would like. We suggest packing comfortable walking shoes and layers of clothing, since the temperatures do fluctuate from day to night.
The Al Andalus train does have wifi in the lounge of the train, although the signal is not strong and may not reach outside of the lounge car. (The signal is also best when the train is stationed.) You may use the computer in the lounge provided for guests' convenience, or you may connect to the train's wifi using your personal laptop, tablet or device.
A Gran Clase Suite is 6.72m2.
A superior suite is 8.4m2.
The size of the bed is dependent on the type of suite you reserve. Gran Clase with 2 beds will contain (1) bed that is 0.80 x 1.9 m and (1) bed that is 0.70 x 1.8 m and Suite Superior has one double/matrimonial bed that is 1.5 x 1.9 m If your suite has one extra bed, it is 0.70 x 1.8 m

Breakfast is served on board every morning, and lunches and dinners are taken either on the train or in selected local restaurants along the route. On the Madrid to Seville journey these include lunch in Toledo, dinner in a restaurant in Merida, lunch near El Puerto de Santa Maria on the Cadiz day and lunch in a local restaurant in Cordoba. Menus feature regional Spanish cuisine. If you have special dietary needs, please tell us when you book so we can pass them on to the train.

The journey begins in Madrid on day 1 with a welcome, an introduction to the city and lunch, after which guests board the Al Andalus at Aranjuez and visit the Royal Palace and its gardens. It ends in Seville on day 7: the train arrives during the final breakfast on board, followed by a farewell to the train and crew. Exact meeting times are confirmed with your booking.
Over 7 days and 6 nights the train travels from Madrid via Aranjuez, Torrijos and the imperial city of Toledo to Caceres and the Roman city of Merida in Extremadura, then south to Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz and Cordoba, where a full day is spent, before arriving in Seville. It crosses the regions of Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura and Andalusia.
The itinerary includes visits to the Royal Palace and gardens of Aranjuez, the imperial city of Toledo, the medieval old town of Caceres, the Roman city of Merida and the Mosque-Cathedral and historic centre of Cordoba, all World Heritage Sites. The journey ends in Seville, whose historic centre is also on the World Heritage list.
Fares start from EUR 6,600 per person sharing, and suites are offered in Gran Clase and Suite Deluxe. Single occupancy is available at a single fare. The exact fare for each departure, double or single, is shown on this page.
A 15% deposit secures your suite on the Al Andalus, and the balance is due 35 days before departure. Departures on this route are on sale from 27 September 2026 to 27 September 2027.
