The main attraction of this 11-day cruise is the unique beauty of the scenery along the Danube. The journey begins in the imperial city of Vienna and continues to one of the oldest cities in Europe, Belgrade, located on the border between the ancient empires of the East and West. Following the river to Romania, the ship will pass through the impressive Iron Gates, a natural gorge that separates the Carpathian Mountains from the Balkan Mountains. The journey ends at Turnu Magurele, an ancient Byzantine fortress at the confluence of the Olt and Danube rivers.

Board the ship from 4PM and settle into your cabin. Enjoy a welcome cocktail, followed by dinner on board. The ship remains overnight in Vienna, allowing you to begin your journey in Austria’s elegant capital. |

Enjoy a full day in Vienna with all meals included on board. After breakfast, join a panoramic city tour featuring some of Vienna’s most iconic landmarks, including the State Opera House, City Hall, Parliament, the Burgtheater, and the magnificent Hofburg Imperial Palace. Spend the afternoon exploring at your leisure before the ship departs for Bratislava around midnight. Overnight on board. |
| Day 3 - BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA Destinations: Bratislava, Slovakia |
Arrive in Bratislava early in the morning. A guided city tour introduces the highlights of Slovakia’s charming capital, including St. Martin’s Cathedral, Michael’s Gate, the Old Town Hall, the National Theatre, and Bratislava Castle. In the afternoon, the ship continues towards Budapest. Overnight on board. |
| Day 4 - BUDAPEST, HUNGARY Destinations: Budapest, Hungary |
Following lunch, arrive in Budapest, one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals. Divided by the Danube into historic Buda and vibrant Pest, the city offers a fascinating blend of culture and architecture. Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour including the Parliament Building, State Opera House, Heroes’ Square, Central Market Hall, Chain Bridge, and Fisherman’s Bastion. In the evening, admire Budapest illuminated at night during an overnight stay in port. |

Spend another day discovering Budapest at your own pace. Explore the contrasting districts of Buda and Pest, each with its own distinctive character. Wander through medieval streets, admire Art Nouveau and Art Deco architecture, and experience the rich cultural influences that have shaped the city over centuries. Overnight on board. |
| Day 6 - MOHÁCS, HUNGARY Destinations: Mohács, Hungary |
Arrive in the historic town of Mohács after breakfast. Known for its role in European history and its famous Busójárás carnival, Mohács offers a glimpse into Hungary’s past. Enjoy free time to explore independently or join an optional excursion to Pécs, a UNESCO World Heritage city renowned for its Roman and early Christian heritage (advance reservation required). Passport control will take place at the Serbian border. Overnight on board. |
| Day 7 - VUKOVAR Destinations: Vukovar |
Arrive in Vukovar in the morning. Severely affected during the Croatian War of Independence, the city is home to several notable landmarks, including the Eltz Manor, Franciscan Monastery, St. James Church, and the birthplace of Nobel Prize winner Lavoslav Ružička. Explore independently or join an optional guided walking tour.In the afternoon, continue to Novi Sad, often referred to as the “Athens of Serbia.” Stroll through Liberty Square, admire the Town Hall and the Neo-Gothic Catholic Cathedral, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the pedestrian-friendly city centre. Arrive in Belgrade, one of Europe’s oldest cities and the vibrant capital of Serbia. A guided city tour showcases key landmarks such as Kalemegdan Fortress, the Temple of Saint Sava, the National Assembly, St. Mark’s Church, and other historic sites. Spend the afternoon at leisure exploring the lively Skadarlija district or relaxing on Ada Ciganlija, Belgrade’s popular river island. Overnight on board. |
| Day 9 - CRUISING THE IRON GATES Destinations: Cruising the Iron Gates |
Today is dedicated to one of the highlights of the voyage: the spectacular Iron Gates Gorge. This dramatic stretch of the Danube forms a natural border between Serbia and Romania and is considered one of Europe’s most impressive river canyons. Along the way, admire landmarks such as Golubac Fortress, Trajan’s Bridge, the Tabula Traiana, and the monumental rock carving of King Decebalus. Overnight on board. |
| Day 10 - VIDIN, BULGARIA Destinations: Vidin, Bulgaria |
Arrive in Vidin, a charming Bulgarian riverside town best known for the remarkably preserved Baba Vida Fortress, the only fully intact medieval fortress in Bulgaria. Enjoy free time exploring the town or join an optional guided excursion to the fortress (advance reservation required). In the evening, celebrate the journey with the Captain’s Farewell Dinner.
