Hotel nights in Beijing and Moscow in four or five star hotels are included as well. Our rail cruises offer you the possibility to experience remote areas of the world like Siberia, Lake Baikal, and Mongolia and at the same time, enjoy the comfort which is possible only on board a private charter train.
Arrival in Beijing. Travelers will be met at the airport by our service staff and transported to their hotel.
In the morning travelers will visit the "8th World Wonder," The Great Wall of China. The wall stretches 6.00 km from east to west and is truly a sight to behold. In the afternoon travelers visit the Imperial Palace known as the "Forbidden City." During the afternoon activities travelers will then be able to experience authentic Chinese cuisine in one of the most famous Beijing Roast Duck restaurants.
In the morning you visit the Imperial Palace (“Forbidden City”) and the huge Tian An Men Square. In the afternoon you walk through the Temple of Heaven, before you board the aircraft for a 2 hours evening flight to Ulaanbaatar.

This full day excursion will take travelers to the Terelj national park, which is famous for its nature. In the park area travelers will have the opportunity to meet a herder family inside their yurt. At this point travelers get to enjoy a Nadaam show arranged especially for travelers aboard the Trans-Siberian express. This show will allow travelers to experience the Mongolian disciplines of wrestling, archery, and horseback riding before enjoying a traditional Mongolian Pot Luck dinner in the evening.
During a sightseeing tour travelers will visit the famous Ghandan Monastery, the Bogd Khan Palace, as well as the Zasian monument from a viewpoint high above the city. At this point travelers will enjoy an amazing view of the city and the surrounding areas of large nomadic yurt settlements. In the afternoon travelers will board the private train for the trans-continental journey to Moscow.
When leaving Ulaanbaatar, your train switches from the Trans-Mongolian to Trans-Siberian mainline on its way to Ulan-Ude. In the evening the train reaches the Russian border station Naushki and the Mongolian border station Suchebaatar. Russian and Mongolian immigration formalities will take place in the train and you may stay in your compartment. Spend the night on your train.
Today the Grand Trans-Siberian Express will arrive at Ulan Ude, the capital of the "Buryat Autonomous Republic" of the Russian federation. The city of Ulan Ude still has large areas with typical Siberian wooden houses. Travelers are treated to a typical Russian homemade lunch as they travel to one of the villages of the Orthodox old believers. Return to your train for the evening.
Today you will be amazed by one of the top highlights of your Grand Trans-Siberian Express tour. Lake Baikal holds the biggest fresh water reserves in the world. It stretches up to 41.8 km from east to west and more than 595 km from north to south. Lake Baikal is the deepest lake of the world, reaching 1,620 meters at its deepest part. The mountain ranges around Lake Baikal and the deep blue water of the lake is a scene you will never forget.
In the afternoon travelers are taken on a short boat cruise from Port Baikal to the small village of Listvyanka. They then get to see the historic St. Nicholas church; a beautiful orthodox wooden church that was beautifully renovated in the 1990's. While enjoying an exquisite Siberian lunch at a restaurant on the shore of Lake Baikal travelers will have the opportunity to taste the famous Omul fish, which only lives in the clear water of Lake Baikal. In the evening a bus ride will then take travelers from Lake Baikal to their hotel in Irkutsk city.
Irkutsk is famous for its trade with Mongolia and China and used to be called “Paris of Siberia” because of its colorful life style during the time of the Tsars. Travelers will be able to visit the old town with its large quarters before experiencing the cultural highlight of the tour, a private classical concert in a palace of historical background. In the evening travelers rejoin the private train for the night.
The next stop on our journey is Krasnoyarsk. Travelers will be taken on a sightseeing tour of the city and be able to visit its main shopping street. Additionally, travelers will get to marvel at the decorum as the mayor decided to decorate the the main shopping street with palm trees in the summertime--in the middle of Siberia! During a boat cruise on the Yenissei River later in the day travelers will have a great view of the city and the huge railway bridge that crosses the river. Return to your train for the evening.
Today travelers will embark on a sightseeing tour through Russia. On the tour, travelers will see some of the city's remarkable Orthodox churches that have stood since before the Soviet period. Travelers will also see the famous Opera house located in the center of the city at Lenin Square. In the afternoon travelers are taken on an excursion to the city of Tiaga, known as "the real Siberian forest." About 30 km out of the city travelers will have the opportunity to visit the largest open air railway museum of Russia. The museum is home to over 60 showpieces of steam, diesel, electric locomotives, and several historical passenger cars. This excursion will give travelers amazing insight into the development of the Trans-Siberian railway. Return to your train for the evening.
On this day travelers will arrive in the capital of the Ural Mountains, Yekaterinburg. The city was founded in 1723 by Czar Peter I as a center of the metallurgical industry. By the 20th century Yekaterinburg had become one of the largest and most important financial, cultural, and industrial centers of Russia as it is located at the border of Europe and Asia. On the sightseeing tour travelers will visit the "Cathedral on the Blood," which is historical in that it was built at the place where Czar Nicholas II and his family were executed by the Bolsheviks in 1918. A trip into the Ural forests will then take travelers into Ganina Yama, which today is considered a "holy place" by Russians. This monument was erected in the 1990's to honor the the last Czar's family of the Romanov dynasty. Accommodation in a hotel in a hotel in Yekaterinburg.
Travelers will leave Yekaterinburg in the morning on this day and enjoy a day of travel on the Trans-Siberian railway. The private train will pass through the Ural Mountains as travelers enjoy the beautiful forests, lakes, and small settlements. Travelers will be able to relax this day, as they enjoy the scenery and lectures about the country and its people. Spend the evening on board the train.
Today your 800 km journey from Beijing to Moscow ends. In the afternoon travelers will visit the Red square and the Kremlin Grounds. The sightseeing tour will allow travelers to see the highlights of Moscow such as the Bolshoi theatre, the GUM department store, the Red square, Moscow River, the Sparrow Hills, and the Novodevitchy Monastery. Travelers will experience the vibrant life in the city of Moscow, which today is regularly compared to Paris or Rome. Accommodation in a hotel in Moscow.

Each cabin offers 1 lower and 1 upper bed, a table at the window, a chair opposite the beds, a small wardrobe and storage space. These cars can be booked for 1-2 people per cabin.
Silver cabins have a private toilet, wash basin and “wet-room” style shower en suite. Each cabin offers 1 lower and 1 upper bed, a table at the window, a chair opposite the beds, a small wardrobe and storage space. These cabins can be booked for 1-2 people.
Deluxe cabins are equipped with 2 lower beds and 2 upper beds. While only the lower beds are used for sleeping, the upper beds can be used as additional storage for luggage – or they simply can be folded away. Toilets and wash basins for common use are situated at both ends of each sleeping car. The sleeping cars are air conditioned (central control). Sockets for 220 V are available in each cabin, capable for razors, loading mobile phones, cameras and notebooks. Daily showers are guaranteed in hotel day rooms. Deluxe cars offer 9 cabins each and may be booked for 1-2 people.
Standard cabins are popular with those looking for the most economical way of travelling and is usually booked by families with children or friends travelling together. Standard sleeping cars are equipped with 2 lower beds and 2 upper beds. Toilets and wash basins are situated at both ends of the cars for the common use. The cars are air conditioned (central control). Sockets for 220 V are available in the car, capable for razors and loading mobile phones, cameras and notebooks. This cabin may be booked only by 4 passengers travelling together. In the hotels the 4 passengers will stay in 2 double rooms.
In the summer, the weather can be fairly warm. Most travelers are comfortable in shorts and short-sleeved shirts. Remember to wear comfortable shoes as there is a fair amount of walking. You may also want to bring a light jacket in case it gets chilly in the evening. You may also wish to bring business-casual clothes when having dinner in restaurants, although this is not required.
The train has 2-3 restaurant cars and one bar car. Russian meals are served while the train is in Russia, and Chinese cuisine while in China.
