A trip through the millenary land of the Kingdom of León will make you acquainted with artistic and historical buildings: museums, churches, cathedrals...while you enjoy its traditional gastronomy. 1100th Anniversary of the Kingdom of León (910 - 2010)

Day 1. Parador start of the Route. Sunday (one night stay) (León)

In 910 a.C., King García I decide to move his court from Oviedo to León. What initially looked like a temporary move proved to be definitive, and León became the capital town of the Kingdom for 320 years. León is a town of incomparable beauty, linked with the Saint James Way. The town is the venue of multiple interesting buildings to visit, like the Cathedral of Sta. Maria, the Basilica of San Isidoro or the Hostal de San Marcos. The palace of the Guzmanes, Casa de Botines, churches of San Marcelo and Sta. Ana, the Main Square and the Romanic walls are some of the buildings and spots worth to visit.

Day 2. Monday (one night stay) (Zamora)

Zamora is known as the capital town of Romanic style, because the large amount of monuments alongside its streets and squares, including the beautiful Cathedral. Close to town, in vary short distance, you may visit villages of high monumental value, like La Hinojosa. In Zamora, you should not miss visiting the cathedral, the medieval center of town, the churches of San Isidro, San Pedro and San Ildefonso, The Encarnación Hospital, the Palace of Momos...Churches, palaces, old noble houses, convents, medieval streets are waiting to be discovered by you.

Day 3. Tuesday (one night stay) (Salamanca)

Walk by to the center of the baroque Plaza Mayor, the Main Square (XVIII century) and open your eyes and be seduced by its beauty and the harmony. The square is the vivid meeting point from where to start the discovery of the town; and among many other monuments, the Casa de las Conchas (XV century), the Old Cathedral (XIII century), the New Cathedral (from XVI to XVIII century) or the University (XVI century). This is a village of churches, of old and noble palaces, a prestigious university, a city of students, a vivid city that wants to be enjoyed at every moment.
