Although the Parador is in a quiet spot, it is very close to Cervera, a town in the heart of the Montaña Palentina region which has preserved its traditional, rural character, inviting you to stroll through the streets. Cervera is a strategic location for exploring the mountains of the Cantabrian Range, a virgin natural area that offers perfect trails. Options include Roblón de Estalaya, where you will see “El Abuelo,” an incredibly long-lived oak tree; La Tejada de Tosande, with its ancient yew trees 5 or 6 meters tall; and the beautiful Senda del Bosque Fósil, on which you will pass the fossilized stumps and trunks of trees from a forest that existed 300 million years ago. Another fantastic option, especially if you have children, is a visit to El Robledal del Oso Adventure Park, a unique and fun way to explore a natural environment through sports and play trails.

You may also be interested in discovering the Romanesque art and architecture of the region. You can plan a route to visit the most interesting sights: Sta. Mª la Real Monastery in Aguilar de Campoo, San Juan de Moarves Church in Ojeda and Olleros cave church in Pisuerga are just a few options. There are so many fine examples of the Romanesque style in the area that you are sure to lack for time.

Lovers of hunting and fishing can enjoy the big game reserve and the many hunting and fishing preserves in the area. How would you like to experience nature in all its splendor? The Parador de Cervera de Pisuerga is a paradise you won't want to miss.

The Parador de Cervera de Pisuerga is located in the Fuentes Carrionas Nature Reserve, a natural area of unique splendor in northern Palencia Province and the habitual refuge of the brown bear. The hotel is in a wooded area, offering spectacular views, with the waters of Ruesga Reservoir beside it and the Picos de Europa mountains as a backdrop. Here you will discover a landscape of incredible beauty. We invite you to enjoy an exquisite breakfast in one of our balcony rooms with a view of the reservoir, and the rich aroma of after-lunch coffee in the fireplace lounge, the perfect spot for winter afternoons. All you need to do is abandon yourself to the peaceful atmosphere. Because at over 1000 meters above sea level, where the sounds of nature create a relaxing melody, the tranquility is overpowering.
